A Path I Might Have Missed

My fifth book–A Path I Might Have Missed–is a probing collection of forty-two poems I wrote (from 1993 to 2023) and published in 2023.

The title refers to a literary existence I discovered late in life … one I might have overlooked if I hadn’t left a constraining corporate life to pursue and realize more personal creative dreams.

Spun through the wonder of words and influences of nature, my poetry examines the universal highs and lows of life–love, loss, pain, discovery, truth, and transformation–along with the challenges present in contemporary society.

I have organized the book into six thematic sections: buds and blooms; fog and fire; magic and music; trials and trails; water and wonder; and stones and sky.

The beginning of each section is accompanied by photos of nature: birds, plants, flowers, and wildlife.

I wrote all of the poems and captured all of the images–on the cover and inside the book–while living in Illinois and Arizona.
