We spend precious seconds, minutes, hours, days,
And nights of our lives angling for the next fish.
We rush from place to place, moment to moment,
Often derailed and distracted by constant noise,
Often unfulfilled as the day’s last light descends.
Maybe, to catch the one we dream of catching,
It’s best to pause in silence at the water’s edge,
To give thanks for what passes before us,
To be still beside the simple silhouette cast.

I love the image you captured, the boy’s silhouette against the sliver of light.
Your poem is very wise!
